I am Daisy-Alice

UK Lifestyle blog consisting of fashion, Travel and Interviews!

I had so many photos from Magic Kingdom I decided to make it its own blog post. I was lucky enough to visit Disney World over Halloween and then on my last trip to Magic Kingdom it was ready for Christmas. It was lovely to be able to catch both of their festive decorations! I’d really recommend visiting towards the end of October and into early November as you'll be able to take part in Halloween and Christmas like me, plus the wait times really weren’t so bad. During my visit I got to go onto my two favourite rides Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain, I think the wait times for these were under 20 minutes which is amazing. If rides aren't your thing there's so much else to do, during one of the days I caught The Muppets performing, and I got to see the daily parade. Disney is known for it's amazing treats, I tried a couple that I spotted on instagram including the Mickey cinnamon bun, Mickey Pretzel and my boyfriend had the candy corn ice-cream. The cinnamon bun arrived warm and it was so delicious. Easily my favourite thing I had! I was desperate to try one of the rice crispy treats but they all had gelatin in sadly, maybe one day they'll be a vegetarian version.

The highlight of my trip was the happily ever after fireworks, they were the best I’ve ever seen. We found a spot around an hour before they started and it was quickly filling up in the park. The projections on the castle were incredible and they made sure to include everyone’s favourite films. For Moana they even designed fireworks to look like her boat symbol! My favourite part was when they went through the Pixar films as these are my favourite Disney films. I took so many photos, I couldn’t help myself it was simply stunning and super colourful!

Hello, here's my second Orlando blog post. I've decided to split them up into two as they were getting a little photo heavy and the writing was getting lost. So expect my Magic Kingdom post very soon, but for now here's Hollywood Studios & Epcot!

Hollywood Studios:
I love Toy Story, so I was very excited that I was able to see the brand new Toy Story Land! Out of all of the mini worlds in the whole of the Disney World, this was my favourite. I absolutely loved all of the bright colours and general vibe of the area. We went to Hollywood Studios on a Saturday so it was much busier than the other days we'd be been at the parks, Toy Story Land in particular was very busy. We had to wait for just over an hour and half for the Slinky Dog Dash but in my opinion it was completely worth it. It was faster than I thought it would be, but so much fun! When you're waiting in line there's so much to look at. The Toy Story Mania Ride is really fun, again so much has been thought about and you totally feel like you've been shrunk down. This experience is a 3D series of video games all themed around the film. Plus after you've had plenty of fun here, make sure you get yourself a seat for the Fantasmic show, it's not one to miss!

Epcot:
This was a bit of a throwback to the 80's/90s, I felt like I had gone into a time warp. Before I caught the fireworks I went on the Riding Nemo ride which was super cute, I'm such a big fan of the Pixar films, they're always incredible well done with such a positive message. I also went on Soarin' Around the World, which was so much fun. I really felt like I was flying, so much so that I even screamed a few times. After we went to the international pavilions, it was during the height of their annual food & wine festival so it was pretty busy. It was incredible how they'd managed to create so many realistic cities from across the world, I didn't sample of the food sadly but I can imagine how much fun this would be if you planned ahead. On the night we visited, Boys to Men were performing as part of eat to the beat show and it was filled with screaming fans! I absolutely loved seeing the fireworks and display, it's amazing that they do this every single night. I stood to the right of the Mexico area and had a great view, I may have even got a little emotional. This girl looooves fireworks.

The Pantone colour of the year is purple/ultraviolet and looking at the beauty releases from the last 11 months it would seem that the industry is jumping onto that trend. Pantone say "Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future." So here are some of the purple inspired pieces I've picked up and have been testing lately.

Tricky to photograph but the Lip Injection Extreme from Too Faced has a purple iridescent sheen running through it, however when it's on the lips it's hardly noticeable. This has quite a strong sensation but you can definitely feel it working on your lips, it creates a hot tingling feel. The results aren't dramatic but both my boyfriend and sister said they could see a difference.

The fragrance from Elizabeth and James isn't purple but it carries a rich and luxurious scent that I associate with the colour, plus one of it's notes is Violet! I make sure that whenever I visit the states I pick up one of these rollerballs from Sephora. They're so handy to have in your handbag plus this scent is stunning. It reminds me a little bit of the smell in the Disneyland hotels! Described as "a bold, addictive blend of violet, sensual sandalwood and rich vanilla strike the match on finding the perfect balance between masculine and feminine."

Smashbox Prysm Palette

I'm having a bit of a Smashbox moment and this Prysm palette had to make it into my collection. The packaging on this range (there's currently 11 palettes) is incredible, it was hard to photograph but it's been created with lenticular printing. Such an original idea to all of the hundreds of palettes that are out there. The shades are really unique with two gorgeous iridescent glitters, I'm really excited to start using this all the time around the festive period. Plus Smashbox are a cruelty free brand and this collection is really affordable at only £26.

Purple Norvina Palette

I've been testing out the Norvina palette since it's release back in July to see how much wear I'd get out of it once the hype had died down. My final thoughts are that the shades apply really nicely and blend out well. In the look above I used the shades Soul (not shown), Celestial, Drama and Passion. To get the best results with Celestial I applied with my finger and used Wet 'n' Wild Bleached underneath, to add some sparkle and a good base. I kept on patting the colour with my finger until I was happy. Although the palette is themed around purple, the shades are equally pink and warmer tones. I actually prefer this quite a lot more to their hero product, Modern Renaissance the colours suit me more and I think the shades are more wearable. However f you're looking for a more cool toned purple palette I'd recommend the Smashbox Prism eye Palette collection, plus it's half the price!

Other products used in this look: Too Faced lip injection extreme gloss, Milani blush in Tea Rose, Kat Von D liner in trooper, Smashbox Superfan Mascara, Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and a touch of Urban Decay's shadow in the shade Glitter Rock.
